In office since 2015. Quit the 2026 race; leaves office January 3, 2027.
Voted against the Big Beautiful Bill, then quit rather than face the voters.
๐ The short version
Tillis voted against the One Big Beautiful Bill in June 2025. When President Trump promised to back a primary challenger, he announced the next day that he would not run again. Since then he has voted against all three SAVE Act amendments, to end the Brazil tariffs, and for the Democrats' Iran war resolution. In 2022 he helped write the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the gun-control law, and he voted for the Respect for Marriage Act.
โHE WAS A QUITTER! Now he can have all the fun he wants for a few months, with some of his RINO friends, screwing the Republican Party.โ
